Happy St Patrick's Day With Singing Priest Father Ray Kelly

Topics: National News

What better way to help celebrate St. Patrick's Day than hearing the beautiful voice of a very talented Irish Catholic Priest that became a social-media sensation after he surprised bride and groom Chris and Leah O'Kane with his heart-warming performance singing a pitch-perfect custom-made version of Leonard Cohen's "Hallelujah" at their wedding. During the marriage ceremony, Father Kelly told the newly married couple and their family and friends gathered that he had a small surprise for them. It turned out to be a huge surprise that brought tears of joy to the bride.

Fr Ray Kelly (Facebook page here), who has been parish priest at Oldcastle, north-west of Dublin since 2006, started the song with the words: "We join together here today, to help two people on their way, as Leah and Chirs start their life together."

This soulful Irish priest's rendition has captured the hearts of over 40 million people and he made his national U.S. TV debut this St. Patrick's Day morning with a live performance on FOX & Friends (FOX News Channel) to celebrate the release of his debut album 'Where I Belong' (Manhattan Records). He will also be singing in a Benefit Concert for Kylemore Abbey, The Church of St. Joseph in New York City today.

Here is Father Kelly singing his rendition of Leonard Cohen's "Hallelujah" to a greatly surprised wedding couple, families, and friends. It's well worth your time to watch the entire video.

Here is the story behind how this Irish priest became a worldwide internet sensation.

And no St Patrick's Day could be complete without hearing 'Oh Danny Boy' ... sung by Father Kelly, of course.

Here is the intro to Father Kelly's St. Patrick's Day release of his true Irish album 'Where I Belong' which can be downloaded here.
