Roe vs. Wade 'Anniversary': 57 million babies have been killed by abortion in America since 1973Topics: Abortion, Political News and commentaries
Forty years ago today the U. S. Supreme Court handed down its downright awful decision in Roe v. Wade. Since then there have been over 57 MILLION abortions in America - roughly one-third of the last two generations.
For those who respect life, such as the pro-life abortion opponents that have gathered in Washington, D.C., for their annual rally against the high court decision, it's a day of mourning and disgust. For liberal-progressives like Barack Obama, it's a day of celebration, a sort of 'Happy Roe vs. Wade day':
"We reaffirm our steadfast commitment to protecting a woman's access to safe, affordable health care and her constitutional right to privacy, including the right to reproductive freedom," Obama said in a statement. Not much to say here that hasn't and isn't already been and is being said by others. I only ask how, pray tell, can anyone with an iota of conscience and moral fiber find anything remotely worth celebrating about the death of 55 million completely innocent unborn children ... or any law or act that brought about their deaths?
As Josh Fults notes at WalkGood (emphasis mine):
"Approximately 22% of all pregnancies now end in abortion. 3 out of 10 women have had an abortion buy the age of 45. Have we not lost our way? How have we become so cavalier in regards to our moral sensibilities? We have traded convenience and a desire to live without burden in for the sanctity of life. To where shall this road take us? How much more blood will flow through our hands?"It's as though many in our society have lost all sense of respect for and sanctity of life ... and yes, we as a nation, have indeed lost our way.
