California grants law license to illegal alienTopics: Immigration and Border Issues, Political News and commentaries
Yes, he graduated from law school and passed the state bar exam, but that doesn't change the fact that he entered into the United States illegally, he remains here illegally, and anyway you cut it ... he's an illegal alien.
This 'illegal alien' arrived in the U.S. (I repeat - 'illegally') 20 years ago to pick almonds with his father and worked at a grocery store and in the fields while attending school is indeed admirable and worthy of praise for proving hard work pays off. After working in the fields and at a grocery store before attending community college he became a paralegal, went to law school and passed the bar on his first try - applied for citizenship in 1994, and is still working toward that goal.
Yet none of this changes the fact that he came here illegally, stayed here illegally, and the liberal loons on the Supreme Court of the State of California has just issued him a law license.
Some might say he certainly deserves it based on all his hard work and dedication to succeed, myself among them. Yet one still has to address the bottom line here - either our borders and our immigration laws mean something, or they do not. If there are no repercussions for having broken our immigration law, how can one then truly justifying enforcement of all our other laws. Are we to just pick and choose based on ... whatever!
