Dem Senator Dianne Feinstein 'Goes There': 'U.S. "not safer today" because "'Jihadist' terror is up worldwide"Topics: Political News and commentaries, Terrorism
Refreshing to hear truth from a Democrat Senator, truth that you don't hear from Obama who remains in jihad-denial (videos). Feinstein actually said that the U.S. is less safe today ... that there were "more groups, more fundamentalist, more jihadist, more determined to kill to get to where they want to get."
S.A. Miller writes at the New York Post, December 1: "Feinstein: America is less safe from terrorism":
The heads of Congress' intelligence committees warned Sunday that America is less safe from terrorism today than it has been in recent years.More here ...
The dire warning came from both sides of the aisle, with Senate Intelligence Committee Chairwoman Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) and House Intelligence Committee Chairman Mike Rogers (R-Mich.) agreeing that the threat is worse.
"Terror is up worldwide. The statistics indicate that," Feinstein declared on CNN's "State of the Union."
"The fatalities are way up. ... There are new bombs, very big bombs -- trucks being reinforced for those bombs," she said. "There are bombs that go through magnetometers. The bomb maker is still alive. There are more groups than ever. And there is huge malevolence out there."
She said the threat to the US has grown with the rise of "more groups, more fundamentalist, more jihadist, more determined to kill to get to where they want to get." ...
The piece goes on to appropriately point out that our intelligence services are not the bad guys, and that the public needs to stop focusing on the National Security Agency programs disclosed by spy-secrets leaker Edward Snowden, and worry about the real threat which is the al Qaeda affiliates (which contrary to Obama's claim are NOT in decline), Russian intelligence services, Chinese intelligence services, and Iran's Quds Force that operates terrorism events all around the world, in order to keep America safe.
This doesn't mean that we should not be concerned about our privacy, because we should - it's our Constitutional right and the Obama administration has used government agencies against those that disagree with it and invade the privacy of those they consider to be 'enemies' (e.g. IRS vs. Tea Party and giving info to other agencies). It does, however, remind us that we need to keep our concerns in perspective ... and to the extent possible, seek a proper balance between privacy and security. Loss of privacy can cost us our liberty, poor or ineffective security will get us killed.
