National Journal's Ron Fournier: Sebelius Should Have Been Shown The Door

Topics: Political News and commentaries

National Journals Ron Fournier, former Washington bureau chief at the AP, told Morning Joe this morning that HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius needs to go.

"This administration spent an unforgivable amount of money on a website that doesn't work. And, then the President of the United States gets out there yesterday and instead of taking responsibility and say I'm going to fix it, and rolling heads, he diminishes the significance of what happened, he points the finger at Republicans, and doesn't really take full responsibility and hasn't ... We had the Secretary of HHS, a woman who I truly respect sitting in the front row. Maybe she should have been shown the door."
In the private sector, any manager that was responsible for a debacle as big as Obamacare's website rollout has been ... at a cost of much much less that the $634 million blown on healthcare.gov ... would have been 'shown the door' on day 1. The fact that Sebelius is still around speaks volumes to the lack of leadership and the gross mismanagement at the top of the administration.
