U.S. pressures Israel to restart "peace" talks by freeing 26 "Palestinians" who were all involved in killing Israelis

How many peace initiatives have been initiated outside forces only to have them abruptly?

As the Times of Israel reports:

Overnight Tuesday, Israel released 26 high-profile Palestinian prisoners, all of whom were convicted of direct or indirect involvement in the killings of Israelis, the Israeli government said.

The releases, the first in four phases in which a total of 104 long-term Palestinian convicts will go free, were agreed as part of a deal for the resumption of peace talks with the Palestinians.Fifteen of those set free are from Gaza; the other 11 are from the West Bank.

Israeli officials released these details of who the 26 are, what they did, and what their sentences were: ...

Fayez Khur: Aged 51, a Fatah activist from the Gaza Strip. On May 10, 1983, he murdered Menahem Dadon in the Gaza Strip, and was involved in the murder of Salomon Abukasis in the Gaza Strip on February 14, 1983. Sentenced to life imprisonment.
