Marine Slows Down To Help 9-Year-Old Finish 5K Race


Call this today's 'feel good' story, and it's one that a certain 9-year-old boy is unlikely to forget anytime soon.

Lance Corporal Myles Kerr is now an internet sensation after slowing down to help 9-year-old Boden Fuchs finish a 5k race Saturday in Charlevoix, Michigan, after the 9-year-old asked Kerr during the race, "Sir, will you please run with me?" after falling behind his group.

The Facebook account Seals of Honor shared the picture of the two running together (above). It quickly became an internet sensation, tallying well over 200,000 'likes' in just a few days.

Several people commented calling Kerr a "role model" and "hero."

Kerr became an instant local celebrity, but said he was surprised by the praise. He has been interviewed by the local media. This act of kindness has even inspired people who flocked to social media sites. So much so, in fact, that many speculate Kerr's twitter page is currently inactive due to the massive amounts of traffic his page received after the story broke. ...
