Rep. John Conyers at Immigration Hearing: 'I Hope Nobody Uses the Term Illegal Immigrants Here Today'

In the course of a hearing on immigration policy held by the House Judiciary Committee this morning, Michigan representative John Conyers warned those gathered, "I hope no one uses the term 'illegal immigrants' here today." He went on to say, "Our citizens are, the people in this country are not illegal, they are out of status, they are new Americans that are immigrants, and I think that we can forge a path to citizenship that will be able to pass muster" (h/t - NRO):

Clearly, Michigan representative John Conyers, and likely many of his fellow Democrats along with him, are either ignorant of or choose to ignore the fact that entering our country without permission, or aiding or abetting the entrance thereof, or harboring or employing or recruiting, etc.; an illegal alien in the United States ... is ILLEGAL.
