The Libya Scandal Just Keeps Growing

Topics: Libya, Political News and commentaries

David French is spot-on ... he (and the rest of us) hadn't believed (up to now) that it was possible, but the Libya scandal just got worse:

When you watch Jake Tapper's excellent report on ABC News, you'll see that our State Department not only withdrew necessary American security, it not only ignored its diplomats' pleas for increased protection, it not only ignored repeated and escalating attacks in Benghazi (side question: Why are we only just now hearing about these attacks and bombings?), it also apparently relied on an unpaid local militia of grocers and shopkeepers as its security force. Any person with any experience in the Middle East knows this is beyond incompetence -- it's reckless disregard for our citizens' lives.

And even worse, despite the fact that the entire world saw Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton, and Susan Rice go on national TV and repeatedly claim that the Benghazi attack was "spontaneous" and the "result of an offensive video" ... the State Department now claims that it "never believed the Sept. 11 attack on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi, Libya, was a film protest gone awry."
