Domestic Terrorist Bill Ayers Admits Holding Fundraiser For Obama (Obama lied in 2008)

Topics: Political News and commentaries

Back in 2008 the Barack Obama for President campaign fully denied the McCain/Palin campaign's accusation that domestic terrorist Bill Ayers held a fundraiser in his home for Barack Obama's Illinois State Senate campaign. However, it turns out that last month - three years later to the day, Bill Ayers, speaking to a group of educational activists about his support for a grade school teacher Bob Peterson in Peterson's bid to become president of the Milwaukee teacher's union ... admitted that he had held a fundraiser for Barack Obama at his home. In other words, Barack Obama and his campaign clearly lied.

Via Jack Cashill at American Thinker, here is the sum of what Obama said during the debate when questioned by John McCain:

Forty years ago, when I was 8 years old, he engaged in despicable acts with a radical domestic group. I have roundly condemned those acts. Ten years ago he served and I served on a school reform board that was funded by one of Ronald Reagan's former ambassadors and close friends, Mr. Annenberg.

Other members on that board were the presidents of the University of Illinois, the president of Northwestern University, who happens to be a Republican, the president of The Chicago Tribune, a Republican- leaning newspaper. Mr. Ayers is not involved in my campaign. He has never been involved in this campaign. And he will not advise me in the White House. So that's Mr. Ayers.

Note that, as Chris Mathews points out of Obama's summary in the October 15, 2008 video clip below, "He did not quite come clean." Take the time to watch it, as spokesman Robert Gibbs flat-out denies the fundraiser story to an inquiring Chris Matthews. Then watch Bill Ayers, in his own words, admit to the event himself. As John Nolte at Big Journalism notes, either Mr. Gibbs lied to Mr. Matthews, or Mr. Obama lied to Mr. Gibbs (Is there any doubt that Mr. Gibbs said anything but what he had been told to say by Team Obama?):

... In October of 2008, in the heat of the campaign, NPR all but called Vice Presidential nominee Sarah Palin a liar for how she characterized the relationship between Ayers and Obama. Here's a juicy NPR nugget: [emphasis mine]
To help Obama in the Democratic primary race to succeed her, Palmer organized a few informal meetings to introduce Obama to her supporters in the fall of 1995, including the gathering at Ayers' house. It was not a fundraiser, as some reports have stated. And it was not the meeting that launched Obama's political career, as other Obama critics have alleged.
... here's the Huffington Post in October of 2008:
LIE: "Obama was feted at a fundraising event" at Ayers' home.("Hype: The Obama Effect")

TRUTH: Obama never had a fundraising event at Ayers' home.

Clearly, not only did Obama lie, but additionally, either the liberal media purposefully covered up Obama's lie, and in turn lied about it, or it was negligent in failing to make an effort to discover the truth. And although this is old news, and so far as the liberal media goes - a non-story, it's further evidence that liberals will say anything to gain power and to stay in power, and the conservatives must make a yeoman's effort to get out the truth about Barack Obama and his agenda between now and the 2012 election. Neither Barack Obama nor the Obama-adoring media can be counted on to be truthful about Obama's past, his agenda, and the failure of his policies.
