Newt Gingrich Beats Obama in General Election Poll

Topics: Political News and commentaries

It's within the the poll's three point margin of error, but nonetheless ... a Rasmussen Reports poll of likely voters finds that in a general election match-up, Newt Gingrich would get 45 percent to President Obama's 43 percent.

Call me a cynic, but I just don't see Gingrich getting enough independents and centrist Democrats to beat an Obama 'billion dollar' campaign or that his history won't be ample ammunition for the Dems to use against him. Gingrich is a very smart man and can most certainly out-debate both Obama and his teleprompter ... but I just see him as a very knowledgeable idea guy with no experience or expertise in the private sector.
