Rick Perry's first paid television ad
Topics: Political News and commentariesHere's Rick Perry's first paid television ad, set to air in Iowa (the ad on the video will disappear in a few seconds after loading):
As I keep saying, I have no dog in this hunt. At this point, I'll support 'anyone but Obama' ... so long as he or she is likely to beat Obama in 2012. So far, I just don't believe that Perry (or Cain) would do the job, despite the fact that an Evolving Strategies poll has it that Herman Cain, Rick Perry, and Mitt Romney would all beat Obama.
To be clear, I do like Perry's plan ... and do believe that it would create jobs and get America's economy back on its feet. I just don't believe he can beat Obama because when the rubber hits the road on election day, it's going to be a battle of voter turnout, voter enthusiasm, and the vote of those so-called independent voters. And then there's the issue of overcoming the certain-to-occur voter fraud on the part of Obama's minions.
As for Cain, I have serious concerns about not only his ability to actually beat Obama in 2012, but about his ability to effectively govern if he did win the presidency. He's a smart guy, no doubt, and a somewhat effective communicator. But running a country? Not enough 'there' there. He's simply not presidential material, but of course Barack Obama isn't either ... although we've already seen where that has got us.
