Obligatory Diane Sawyer ''Occupy Protests In 'More Than 1,000 Countries''' Clip

Topics: Follies of the Mainstream Media, Political News and commentaries

Just in case you missed it, take the time to watch ABC News anchor Diane Sawyer, breathlessly desperate to give the 'movement' legitimacy and push Barack Obama's class warfare agenda, make the jaw-dropping claim that the 'Occupy' protests have spread to more than 1,000 countries (in our world of only 195 countries):

Speaking of Wall Street, we thought we'd bring you up to date on those protesters, the Occupy Wall Street movement. As of tonight, it has spread to more than 250 American cities, more than a thousand countries -- every continent but Antarctica.
Notice that the Sawyer's report makes no mention of how much the top income earners in the U.S. pay in taxes. Had her report been fair and balanced, and factual, she would have included this Heritage Foundation chart in her report:

Nor does she mention that while the rich are getting richer, the poor are getting richer also ... or that the income disparity is because of the increase in immigration of poor people, not the rich fleecing the poor ... or other such key facts that leftists like Sawyer and the 'Occupy" loons don't want to talk about.

Doug Powers, writing at Michelle Malkin's site, makes the excellent observation that this was likely a Freudian slip (Hat tip - P.J. Salvatore):

ABC's Diane Sawyer, who is ensconced in the 1% of America that the "Occupy Wall Street" occupiers are complaining about, is nevertheless fairly excited about the rapid spread of the protests."

Sawyer seems a little too desperate to give the "movement" galactic legitimacy. Did she mean to say "a thousand cities" around the world? That still seems like a terribly high estimate ...

It's okay -- Sawyer was just as fair-minded back when she reported on the Tea Parties. What? Nevermind. Okay, sure, but the Tea Party had that coming for refusing to let John Lewis speak at a rally. Wait, that wasn't a Tea Party -- Now I'm really confused.
