Video: Solyndra And The Obama Administration
Topics: Political News and commentariesOf the many scandals swirling around this White House right now, none are more easier to follow than the Solyndra pay-to-play scheme. This video released today by the Institute for Energy Research provides all you need to know about Solyndra and the Obama administration, in a nutshell:
The Obama Administration fast tracked Solyndra's loan application and now $535 million dollars of American tax payer money is gone along with 1,000 green jobs. How many more examples of green jobs failure do we need before we realize you can't centrally plan economic prosperity?
The video succinctly nails it (H/t - Tina Korbe):
As David Boaz' piece at Cato today points out, "no evidence has emerged that political favoritism played a role in what administration officials assert were merit-based decisions" ... but the story is chock full of smoking guns.
- The administration fast-tracked a $535 million loan to Solyndra.
- Major Solyndra investors were often also major Obama donors.
- Solyndra declared bankruptcy, despite apparently making it appear to the administration as recently as July that the company's finances were fine.
Standby for a lot more to come out on this mess.

Connie Mack (R-FL) asks Secretary of Labor Hilda Solis how a driver of a hybrid bus is considered a 'green job' during the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee entitled, "How Obama's Green Energy Agenda is Killing Jobs." (Mack questions Secretary Hilda Solis about how she classifies a green job. She is caught in a squeeze trying to lie her way out of false reporting by categorizing a bus driver job as "green" if they drive a hybrid bus. Finally, he hits her with a truthful statement about administration deceit.):
