Re: Herman Cain
Topics: Political News and commentariesJust read Tom Maguire's short post pointing to Byron York's piece telling us how Cain won the Florida straw poll. Tom also suggests we should revisit Cain's bio which in the post-Barack era, Mr. Cain indeed appears "absurdly over-qualified":
"Herman Cain (born December 13, 1945) is an American businessman, politician, columnist, and radio host from Georgia. He is the former chairman and CEO of Godfather's Pizza and a former deputy chairman (1992 - 94) and chairman (1995 - 96) of the board of directors to the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City. Before his business and economics career he worked as a mathematician in ballistics for the United States Navy."No Harvard degree, but clearly lots of smarts and a hell of a lot more experience at actually running something and creating jobs than Community Organizer-in-Chief Barack Obama.
I'm still concerned about Cain's electability in the general and ability to manage the hyper-political environment in Washington, and he's likely to remain a second tier candidate. However, I do like the man and if he ends up being the GOP nominee, he'll certainly have my vote. As for him being able to put Barack Obama out of office, I have my doubts.
A Cain/Rubio ticket perhaps?
