Have You Had Your "Obamateurism" Of The Day?

Topics: Follies of the Mainstream Media, Political News and commentaries

Remember how whenever Bush would have a slip of the tongue, made a gaffe, or misspoke, leftist liberals salivating at the mouth would immediately tear into him and shred him to pieces about it, savagely calling him a "dunce" and an "idiot", belittling his intelligence, berating his folksy Texas drawl, and looking down on him in their "Elitism" with contempt? Mind you, admittedly, not that Bush was the greatest orator ever either...

Well now that their "Obamamessiah" is in Bush's place, whenever "The Chosen One" misspeaks, makes a gaffe , or says something inaccurate or stupid in turn, because, err...I suppose... he is just "human" after all - Oh the humanity!!! - those very same individuals now prostrate before him, who once with such virulent ferocity did not miss the least opportunity to tear into Bush for the same thing, seem all of a sudden to be aloof, whistling while staring at the ceiling and twiddling their thumbs, and completely oblivious to our "Black Orpheus'" many "Obamateurisms"!

As Ed Morrissey points out on Hot Air:

"Say, remember when a young America flexed its muscle and built a railroad that went all the way to Europe? No? How about South America? If that's still not ringing any bells, it's because we have never built a railroad that connected two or more continents. Maybe someone should tell Barack Obama:

'We're the country that built the Intercontinental Railroad', Barack Obama."

"That's what the president of the United States flat-out said Thursday during what was supposed to be a photo op to sell his jobs plan next to an allegedly deteriorating highway bridge."

"A railroad between continents? A railroad from, say, New York City all the way across the Atlantic to France? Now, THAT would be a bridge!"

"It's yet another humorous gaffe by the Harvard graduate, overlooked by most media for whatever reason. Like Obama saying Abraham-Come-Lately Lincoln was the founder of the Republican Party. Or Navy corpseman. Or the Austrian language. Fifty-seven states. The president of Canada. Etc."

"It's called the 'transcontinental' railroad, not the Intercontinental Railroad. It could also properly be called the 'intracontinental' railroad, I suppose, but that's not what it has been called for over a century in the US. If a President wants to keep using it as an example of American ingenuity, it might help if he called it the same name as all other Americans do."

Personally, my favorite "Obamateurism" is the one about those fifty seven states Obama spoke of during the 2008 campaign. No wonder he got elected, if all those other seven states of his voted Democrat!

As Mr. Morrissey points out, "for whatever reason" - as if it wasn't so obvious - the media Obama-lap dogs, who are always hanging on to every "lofty syllable" from Obama's lips as if pearls that spring forth from his mouth, and who are ever so attentive to "The Master's Voice" just like the Victrola dog, seem to always miss these "Obamateurisms" or ignore them - no doubt attributing them to those "Gremlims" inside them pesky "teleprompters"!

But, of course, there is no such thing as media bias...
