Damning Charts Illustrate Obama's Failure on Jobs

Topics: Political News and commentaries

As Dan Mitchell points out over at Cato, President Obama may have a buddy-buddy relationship with big labor, but he's by no means a friend to ordinary workers.

Here are two of Mitchell's four damning pieces of evidence (click images to enlarge).

1. The unemployment rate remains above 9 percent according to the Labor Department data released on Friday.

This is about 2-1/2 percentage points higher than Obama promised if would be at this stage if we adopted the failed stimulus.

And Liberals might not want to hear that the black unemployment rate during the Obama years is more than 50 percent higher than it was during the Bush years.

Moving on to long-term joblessness under Obama ...

... Millions of people have dropped out of the labor force, dropping the employment-population ratio to the lowest level in decades.
Check out Mitchell's other charts here.

As he goes on to point out, the really bad news is that there is little reason to expect a turnaround given the current Administration's affinity for bigger and more burdensome government.

Not to worry though, Dear Leader is going to present his umpteenth job speech on Thursday ... you know, the one where he'll be hoping you don't know about the old saying that insanity is repeating the same thing over and over, and expecting a different result.

But that's not stopping Pelosi et al from pushing yet another S-plan ... under a different name, and this one maybe even bigger than the other one that didn't work. Can you say $1 trillion?)
