ROP Alert: Muslim Soldier Given Conscientious Objector Status By Pentagon Arrested Over Concerns He Was Plotting Second Fort Hood AttackTopics: National News, Understanding Islam
Fox News reports:
At least one U.S. military serviceman has been arrested in connection with an alleged plot to attack Fort Hood nearly two years after a deadly shooting rampage at the base, Fox News has learned exclusively.Only last month, Abdo was given conscientious objector status by the Pentagon because, 'as a Muslim', he 'understood' that fighting for the United States against Muslims was a 'violation of Islamic law' ... but apparently, sharia law doesn't prevent him from killing his fellow countrymen. For him, as with many other Muslims, love and support for Islam trumps love and support of country.
Pvt. Naser Jason Abdo, an AWOL soldier from Fort Campbell, Kentucky, was arrested by the Killeen Police Department near Fort Hood and remains in custody there.
Abdo was found with weapons, explosives and jihadist materials at the time of his arrest, a senior Army source confirms to Fox News. He was arrested at around 2 p.m. Wednesday after someone called authorities to report a suspicious individual.
As pointed out at TheReligionofPeace.com (along with sources and references in the Quran) in its Guide to Understanding Islam although many Muslims are loyal to the non-Muslim countries in which they live, it is in spite of Islamic teaching. Unlike other faiths, Islam is not just a religion but a political system as well. The state is intended to be inseparable from religious rule. Islamic law, or Sharia, is complete and not designed to coexist with or be subordinate to other legal systems.
Muslims are not meant to be ruled by non-Muslims. The Qur'an is very clear that they are to resist unbelievers by any means until Islam establishes political supremacy. This doesn't mean that everyone must be forced to become Muslim, but rather that everyone must submit to Muslim rule.As ROP.com also points out, there are indeed some Muslims that have a loyalty to the country they live in, but what is not clear is if this includes fighting fellow Muslims who are fighting against the country in which they live. Another example of a Muslim that strongly supports his country is M. Zuhdi Jasser, a former U.S. naval officer. We can only hope that there are more Muslims like Jasser than there are like Abdo. On this, the jury's still out.
