A Must Read On Obama's Disastrous Foreign PolicyTopics: Political News and commentaries
In his piece "Why Israel Neutralizes Usama for Obama" of May 20th, 2011, on Townhall.com, columnist Kevin McCullough has written an excellent assessment of the foreign policy disaster that the Obama presidency has turned out so far to be for America, which peaked, ominously, with the debacle unleashed by president Obama's asinine comments, during his recent Middle Eastern speech, where he announced he was reversing long-standing U.S. policy concerning Israel and its security, and reneging on all the previous assurances given Israel by his predecessors in past Administrations.
"Generally speaking President Barack Obama has been a disaster on foreign affairs, national security, negotiation with allies, and sending the wrong messages to our enemies. I take lengthy note of this--with precise detail--on a range of items..."Insightfully, he goes on to analyze:
"Irrefutable and indefensible President Obama has insulted our allies, and spoken softly to our opponents. He has charmed our enemies while issuing overt, harsh-toned double-sided backhands to those we count our dearest friends. In the book I detail relationships with European and South American nations that have suffered this ruthless pragmatism. But this week we saw it on a grander scale in up close living color."(Continue reading)
"Up until Thursday's 'Arab Spring' outreach speech, Mr. Obama had, with recent events, a notably better run on the foreign policy stage, thanks mostly to his kill decision to go get Usama bin Laden. In the polls he saw a minor bump in his approval ratings, and he had touted the accomplishment in his speech at the border where he discussed--immigration."
"But most gains in his approval over the Usama kill are now in the process of being wiped out as the arrogance of his speech delivered Thursday on the issue of Muslim outreach landed a backhanded sting to Jews living in the United States and especially to those living in Israel."
"The demand--or as Obama's handlers would classify it-'request' of Israel to move their forces back to the 1967 borders was perceived as not only a rebuke to Israel, but an overt move to weaken them militarily, and to put them on defense against Islamic radical, Palestinian stirred, Hamas funded terrorist propaganda."
Mr. McCullough's sober evaluation of how disastrous Obama's Muslim-appeasing idiosyncratic whims, and decision-making vacillations (in his lack of decisiveness and leadership) have been to our foreign policy, and by extrapolation to our National Security interests, are dead-on.
It is simply appalling how in just two years of tenure at the Oval Office, Obama has managed to erode and underscore the foundations of decades of diplomacy, goodwill, and cooperation with many of our staunchest allies, on whom Obama has turned his back, and or has snobbed, ignored, and or humiliated in disdain; while he then goes reaching out, "wooing" after Muslim Jihadists, Islamist terrorists, and all sorts of tin-pot dictators, panting after them like a giddy girl trying to ingratiate herself to the object of her love - especially in light of the latest breaking news about Obama's stubborn refusal, at AIPAC, to back down from his betrayal of selling-out Israel to the Palestinians...
Let us wait and see what Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netenyahu, has to say about it tomorrow at AIPAC, in response, either to Obama's total cluelessness...or his agenda-driven mendacity of Islamic slobbering betrayal...whichever the case may be!
