Elementary School Students Fed Raw Onions As Snack
Topics: Political News and commentariesIt seems that the days of milk and cookies are long gone as the 'Food Nazis' (led by their poster child Michelle Obama) have schools now seeking to provide students with healthy fruits and vegetables as snacks.
But isn't feeding kids a snack of raw onions going a bit too far?
That's what several classes of students at Southeast's Turner Elementary were fed Tuesday, instead of the zucchini slices the school's food provider, Chartwells, said it would serve as part of a federal initiative to provide healthy food to young learners.Think for a moment how you would have reacted to getting a snack pack like this!When Trevor Rill picked up the snack bags from the cafeteria for his third-grade class, he found bundles of raw scallions -- those long, green stalks of onion usually reserved for cooking.
And apparently it's getting worse - the nanny state wants to tell you what your kids can eat "before" they come to school, at lunch, after school, and during summer vacation: "Rush Limbaugh - Big Government Now able to Tell your Kids What They Can and Can't Eat At School":
Is there no end to what part of our lives the Democrat's nanny state intends to control? Oh, wait a minute, that's a silly question ... I forgot for a moment that Nancy Pelosi already answered this question.
