Video: John Stossel - Leave Us Alone

Topics: Political News and commentaries

Government continues to grow at the expense of individual liberty, over-spending and over-regulating. Grover Norquist has had enough:

A commenter at the YouTube posting of the video notes:

According to historical legend, the phrase stems from a meeting in about 1680 between the powerful French finance minister Jean-Baptiste Colbert and a group of French businessmen led by a certain M. Le Gendre. When the eager mercantilist minister asked how the French state could be of service to the merchants and help promote their commerce, Le Gendre replied simply "Laissez-nous faire" ("Leave us be", lit. "Let us do').
Wikipedia says the commenter is right. To which I say a big Amen. We need less government, not more. Leave us alone.

I don't always agree with Norquist, especially given his ties to Islamic supremacists and jihadists (Norquist's wife was born Muslim - a likely influence on his views) and the fact that he was on the Islamic payroll both before and after the carnage of September 11. However, on the particular issue of smaller government ... he's on the right side of the issue.
