Report: Fox News' Greg Palkot And Crew Severely Beaten, Hospitalized In Cairo

Topics: Egypt, Political News and commentaries

Attacks on journalists by Mubarak thugs continue to escalate, the latest resulting in Greg Palkot and his crew being beaten and hospitalized. They have since been released from the hospital:

Mark Joyella reports at Mediaite:

[...] Palkot, who's been in the center of the protests in Cairo for days, became cornered by pro-government forces, according to Roberts:

They were forced to leave their position when a Molotov cocktail was thrown at it, a large fire erupted. They were forced to flee. They ran out and ran right into the pro Mubarak crowd and were severely beaten and had to be taken to the hospital, spent the night in the hospital. The extent of their injuries was fairly grave, however, they have been released from the hospital.

The attack on the Fox crew comes as journalists report intensified hostility and violence directed their way, and American networks are working to ensure the safety of their crews.
