Rasmussen: Obama Presidential Approval Index Now At -20

Topics: Political News and commentaries

According to Rasmussen's latest survey of likely voters, President Obama's rating in the Presidential Approval Index now stands at -20. That's a drop of 14 points in the past 30 days. Only 21 percent now strongly approve of his performance, while 41 percent strongly disapprove. That’s the lowest level of Strong Approval yet recorded for President Obama and the lowest Approval Index rating since November.

Overall, 44% of voters say they at least somewhat approve of the president's performance. Fifty-five percent (55%) disapprove.
As Jeffrey Anderson notes at TWS, a month ago, on January 22, President Obama’s tally in the President Approval Index was only 6 points in the hole (30 percent strongly approved of his performance; 36 percent strongly disapproved), and his rating among all respondents was slightly positive (50 percent approved, while 48 percent disapproved). Since then, he has given an unserious State of the Union address, followed it up with an equally unserious budget, and has weighed in on behalf of the public-sector unions in Wisconsin.
