Obama Administration Says Okay for Islamists in New Egyptian GovernmentTopics: Middle East News and Perspectives, Political News and commentaries, Understanding Islam
After all, what could go wrong! The White House finds no problem with the Muslim Brotherhood having a role in a new government in Egypt ... but it must renounce violence and support democracy:
Reporting from Washington -- The Obama administration said for the first time that it supports a role for groups such as the Muslim Brotherhood, a banned Islamist organization, in a reformed Egyptian government.Yeah, right. Is the Obama White House somehow totally clueless to the clearly stated goals of the Muslim Brotherhood? We're talking about a group whose slogan is "Islam is the solution" - they were the inspiration and root of Hamas, al-Qaeda, and many other splinter groups that include almost all of the Muslim groups found in the US - all of which seek Islamic domination and sharia law (check out the following shocking video that dissects The Muslim Brotherhood and their connection to every leading Islamic group in the U.S. and abroad):
The organization must reject violence and recognize democratic goals if the U.S. is to be comfortable with it taking part in the government, the White House said. But by even setting conditions for the involvement of such nonsecular groups, the administration took a surprise step in the midst of the crisis that has enveloped Egypt for the last week.
Given the nexus between Barack Obama and the Muslim Brotherhood, surely it's no surprise that the Obama administration would find the MB having a role in Egypt's government to be acceptable.
Be sure to read Stanley Kurtz's excellent analysis of Obama's opened the door to a Muslim Brotherhood presence in a new Egyptian government.
