Congressman Duffy On Planned Parenthood: Why Are We Funding This?
Topics: Abortion, Political News and commentaries, Pro-LifeI've been meaning to put something up on that disturbing (to put it mildly) "sex slave" video about Planned Parenthood. Today, Kathryn Jean Lopez' piece on Wisconsin Republican Sean Duffy's response pretty well sums up the situation as it stands now.
Ms. Lopez writes at NRO:
As I noted earlier, contrary to what Planned Parenthood, EMILY's List, the New York Times (with some wild assertions), and others would have you believe, Speaker of the House John Boehner, while a committed pro-lifer, is not on a crusade to implement every hope and dream of the pro-life movement as Speaker of the House. (Goodness, even if he were, Barack Obama is still president!) Boehner is not even directly involved in the push to defund Planned Parenthood. That's being driven by other members, including Indiana's Mike Pence, who's sponsored defunding legislationbefore. Joining vets in the effort like Pence and Chris Smith are freshmen, including Wisconsin Republican Sean Duffy, in the seat previously occupied by David Obey for Duffy's entire life. Reacting to yesterday's Planned Parenthood shocking video from Live Action, Duffy tells National Review Online:Related:It's chilling to see how callous this Planned Parenthood employee was toward the plight of underage sex slaves. Her casual collaboration with someone she thought was a pimp is criminal and demands an immediate investigation. Putting aside the controversial subject of abortion, Planned Parenthood holds itself out as a 'trusted health care provider' for women and young people; this video challenges that notion and exposes the profit motives that leave too many young, vulnerable girls unprotected by adults who are actually in a position to stop the abuse. At a time when our government is operating on credit from China, this video will make many American taxpayers question the $360 million they give to Planned Parenthood annually.

Video: Planned Parenthood offering advice to pimps? Update: Did PP call the feds? ('Even if PP called the feds' ... it doesn't explain the enthusiasm with which this clinic advised the undercover reporters, nor of the manager's offer to personally streamline the process for the putative pimp, either. Plus, if she played along with the pair, why then refer them to MMA for abortions because MMA doesn't get audited stringently?)
