"Gore Effect" hits Cancum Climate Conference for third straight day in a row
Topics: Climate Change, Global WarmingA few days before the Cancum Cimate Conference started I was wondering to myself it the Gore Effect would be in play ... and sure enough ... it has indeed occured.
From the "weather is not climate department" - the "Gore Effect" is the phenomenon that leads to unseasonably cold temperatures, driving rain, hail, or snow whenever Al Gore visits an area to discuss global warming. Although Al Gore isn't expected to be in Cancum this week, nonetheless ... as seems the case whenever the warmists convene ... new record low temperatures set in Cancun for three straight days, and more new low temperature records are possible this week.
Dr. Roy Spencer, who is in Cancun representing climate skepticism on behalf of CFACT writes on his blog (ht- Anthony Watts):
Today's my first full day in Cancun at COP-16, and as I emerged from my hotel room I was greeted by a brisk, dry, cool Canadian breeze.Anthony Watts has images of the history of weather in Cancum and notes that the weather forecast for the week ahead does not look encouraging, and that additional low temperature records may be set.It was 54 deg. F in Cancun this morning - a record low for the date. (BTW, Cancun is nowhere near Canada).
Al Gore is not supposed to be here ... but it could be that the Gore Effect has announced his secret arrival. We will check into this.
