Found: a massive ballistic missile streaking across the sky off the coast of California last night.Anyone want to claim it? Because the U.S. military says it's not theirs.

Allahpundit offers some possibilities.
Strange, but there's got to be an explanation coming from somewhere in the government. On the other hand, we're likely to never know if its true or not.
Update: Doug Mataconis points to Barrett Brown at The League Of Ordinary Gentlemen who draws attention to a post at Reddit that passes along an air traffic control warning that was issued yesterday that says pilots were warned to stay away from an area off the California coast around the time that the missile was seen, and the warning refers to the "Naval Air Warfare Center Weapons Division" - which leaves us with the logical conclusion that a U.S. military test of some kind occurred, but doesn't why they're being so secret about it is unclear.
