Democrat Representative claims al-Qaeda no longer a threat to the US (Video)

Topics: Political News and commentaries

Betty McCollum (Rep: Mn-D))deliberately left out "under God" while leading the Pledge of Allegiance in the House in April 2002. Now she's claiming that al-Qaeda is no longer a threat to the U.S.

This, as Ed Morrissey points out is, after all, Minnesota we're talking about here - the state that put Jesse Ventura in charge of the state and sent Al Franken to Washington:

As Jack Nicholson once said in As Good As It Gets, "Sell crazy someplace else -- we're all stocked up here." The Representative from MN-04 declared during her midterm election debate with Teresa Collett that al-Qaeda no longer poses a threat to the United States. No ....seriously:

Clearly, Betty McCollum is telling her constituents that the organization that the Obama administration says is the gravest national-security threat to the US, poses no danger at all. Apparently, McCollum has not only been paying attention in Washington, but hasn't even been paying attention to the news:

(The entire question and answers from all three candidates in their entirety here)

The very fact that Minnesotans sent McCollum to Washington in the first place is bad enough. Should they send her to Washington again, it says much about the mindset of the folks in Minnesota - especially in the context of having put clowns like Jesse Ventura and Al Franken in office.
