Re: Obama's chat with the Rabbis
Topics: Political News and commentariesObama had a conference call with a group of rabbis just before the Jewish New Year. The core of his message may be summed up with "don't believe your lyin' eyes and ears."
As Jennifer Rubin puts it, in other words, he doesn't want them to to take seriously anything the Palestinians and Israelis say about the peace process.
Honestly, the talks are going great. We know, because the president is "stunned at how cordial and constructive the talks were." I wonder if he'll be stunned when they collapse. In other words, the fact that Abbas continues to vilify the Jewish state (presumably now both in English and Arabic) and threatens to walk out in no way indicates that he's not serious about peace, you see.Stated a bit less politely, either our president is lying through his teeth, or he's even more naive than he's proven himself to be thus far in his presidency.
And while we're on the topic of Obama's advice to his countrymen, his message for America about 9/11 - the most lethal terrorist attack against Americans on American soil - can be summed up as "get over it." As Jennifer Rubin notes at the link, it's about what we'd expect from a president who can't manage to even utter the worlds "Islamic fundamentalists" or "jihadists."
