Arutz Sheva Editorial: Obama's Middle East Peace Plan A "House of Cards"

Topics: Middle East News and Perspectives, Political News and commentaries

If an editorial in Arutz Sheva is even close to correctly assessing the likelihood of Obama's attempt to force the Israelis to accept terrorists as peace partners being successful, the Left's messiah is clearly barking up the wrong tree. In his opinion the Obama government has crossed the lines of decency and Obama's "peace process" is going nowhere, as expected.

Tzvi Ben Gedalyahu writes of "Obama's House of Cards":

The closer reality comes to blowing down - or blowing up - the Obama administration's house of cards, the more its jokers succumb to pressure and bend their warped values beyond recognition.

Even the mainstream media covering the U.S. State Department have finally begun not to swallow the daily report, i.e.hogwash, spewed out by State Department Spokesman Phillip. J. Crowley.

His credentials are impeccable: He is a former Senior Fellow and Director of Homeland Security at the left-wing think tank Center for American Progress, which is partly funded by J Street (edit - link inserted) founder billionaire George Soros.

With those credentials, it is not surprising that Crowley crossed all the red lines of decency when he spoke to reporters just hours after Palestinian Authority terrorists riddled the bodies of four Israeli civilians, including a woman in her ninth month of pregnancy.

His performance, shortly before President Obama hosted Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu as an entre' to the "direct talks" script, follows the Obama line that virtually equates Arab terror with building homes for Jews in Judea and Samaria .

The logic is as simple as it is ignorant and Machiavellian: Israel cannot tolerate terrorism; PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas cannot tolerate Jewish homes. Since these two issues are obstacles to "direct talks," then both must be eliminated.

To a reporter's question concerning how Abbas and Netanyahu can "control" terrorists and "a group of settlers saying that they're going to start construction, Crowley answered, "We are gratified that notwithstanding efforts by extremists on all sides to take actions that impede progress" ... and so on.

There lies the Obama administration's equation: killing Jews and building for Jews disturb the ... "peace talks" so both actions are equivalent and both must be stopped. Crowley simply dealt a one-eyed jack that is blind on the side on basic human values.

American foreign policy is hatched in the offices of the State Department, also known as .... Foggy Bottom. Never have its policies been so far from the light of truth.

Its obsession to throw Jews out of Judea and Samaria and what the United States calls "occupied Jerusalem" has become an objective in and of itself, no matter the means.

Clinto's "New Middle East" literally blew up in Israel's face in 2000 with the "Second Intifada." or,as it is more accurately called, the Oslo War.

The best we can hope for is that Obama's House of Cards simply will blow down.

In the president's own words, it's time for a change.(emphasis added)

Fortunately for Israel, the change Tzvi Ben Gedalyahu speaks of will begin to occur this November, and then finally in 2012 when Obama is voted out of office. One can only hope that Israel will be able to hold up until then, and keep her enemies at bay -which unfortunately includes the president of what use to be its closest ally - Barack Hussein Obama, and his administration.
