Topics: Political News and commentaries, Understanding Islam

Jennifer Rubin sums up her piece at Commentary on Obama's Muslim problem with:

... [t]hese are not mutually exclusive explanations. Whatever the root causes or motivations, over the last 18 months we've seen that Obama has been spectacularly unwilling to confront radical Islamists (even to call them that) and all too anxious to promote sentiments in the Muslim community which are counterproductive both for those trying to battle against the forces of radicalism and for the U.S. For someone who fancies himself as the Explainer in Chief with regard to Islam, he certainly could us some fresh thinking.
Read the whole piece and find out her possible explanations.

If you're figuring that one of them has to do with B.O's radical associations, you're right. What you may not know, however, is as Rubin points out - Barry essentially acknowledged during the campaign that a radical Islamists had a deep influence on his thinking. Can anyone seriously doubt that we see the effects of such influence almost every day?
