Pro-Palestinian Ad Campaign in Israel Paid For By U.S. Taxpayers
Topics: Political News and commentariesIf you thought it was bad enough that the Feds are providing tax-exemption status for mosques to send money to Hamas, you'll be even more p**sed off to learn that the Obama administration is paying for ads in Israel to try to convince Israelis that the Palestinian terrorists are their friends - and that they are their partners in peace:
JERUSALEM, Aug. 29 (UPI) -- Washington is funding an ad campaign in Israel featuring billboards of Palestinian officials asking: "We are partners -- what about you?"Not exactly an example of common sense use of taxpayer funds!The campaign launched Sunday includes the faces of senior Palestinian Authority officials Saeb Erekat, Jibril Rajoub and Yasser Abed Rabo, and Riad Malki, Palestinian foreign affairs minister, Yedioth Aharonoth said.
[...] The aim of the campaign is to persuade Israelis that peace partners on the Palestinian side truly exist, and calls for support of a two-state solution, the Tel Aviv newspaper said.
The campaign has raised a few eyebrows in Israel.
"We are talking about a Palestinian Authority campaign funded by the American government," an Israeli Foreign Ministry official was quoted saying.
Only last month California Congressman Howard Berman (D-Calif) distributed talking points among the Democratic ranks stressing Obama and the Democrats' "unprecedented" support for Israel:

Howard Berman (D-Calif.), chairman of the U.S. House of Representatives' Committee on Foreign Affairs, declared that the backing from Obama and the House Democrats have been unprecedented.If the Obama administration and the Dems were really Israel's friends, wouldn't it make a lot more sense to be paying for ads to convince the Palestinians that the Israelis are good potential peace partners? One has to wonder if the Obama administration is either brain-dead or is just blind to Islamic terrorism and the fact that it's not the Israelis that keep lobbing rockets and bombs over in Gaza and the West Bank - it's the other way around."I think you will find [this document] useful to make the case that House Democrats and the President are as good if not better than any Congress or Administration that has come before," Berman, who is Jewish, said in an e-mail to Democrats in Congress.
