Bottom Falls Out Of Barack Obama Approval: Gallop Has Him At 41%

Topics: Political News and commentaries

obama-nope.jpgThat deep sucking sound you hear is the bottom falling out of Barack Obama's approval ratings:

[...] Support for Obama's management of the war fell to 36%, down from 48% in a February poll. Now, a record 43% also say it was a mistake to go to war there after the terrorist attacks in 2001.

The decline in support contributed to the lowest approval ratings of Obama's presidency. Amid a lengthy recession, more Americans support his handling of the economy (39%) than the war.

Even Obama's handling of the war in Iraq received record-low approval, despite a drawdown of 90,000 troops and the planned, on-schedule end of U.S. combat operations there this month.

Only 41% of those surveyed Tuesday through Sunday approved of the way Obama is handling his job, his lowest rating in the USA TODAY/Gallup Poll since he took office in January 2009. In Gallup's separate daily tracking poll, his approval was at 45% Monday.

The RCP average of polls shows 45.5% of voters approving and 49.3% of voters disapproving of Obama's job performance. Rasmussen has Obama at 46% of "somewhat" approving, with fifty-three percent (53%) disapproving.

In a related poll, Gallop finds that President Obama's job approval rating averaged 88% among blacks and 38% among whites in July, a 50-percentage-point difference that has been consistent in recent months but is much larger than in the initial months of the Obama presidency. Obama's job approval ratings among blacks, whites, and Hispanics in July are all at their lowest levels to date, although the overwhelming majority of blacks still approve. (Redstate has a highly informative piece on why so many Blacks still support Obama )

Blacks' approval of the job Obama is doing dipped below the 90% threshold for the second month in a row in July; the 88% July average is the lowest monthly average approval rating blacks have given Obama yet, although not significantly lower than the 89% recorded in June.
I'm almost convinced that Obama could completely bust the economy and cause unemployment to go up to 25%, and still he'd have the support of 90% of Blacks - just because he's Black, he's a Democrat, and got elected (so who are the racists? Didn't he get 43 percent of the white electorate?).

Sure, there were some whites that didn't vote for Obama because of race, but most whites didn't vote for Obama because they saw through his rhetoric, made themselves aware of his radical far-left, liberal-progressive background and associations, and cared more about their country, the free market, and our constitution than they.cared about wanting a government handout and "wealth redistribution" from those that have earned it to those who haven't.

On the other hand, Clinton also had a 90% job approval rating among Blacks. And as pointed out at the above Redstate link, for the past half century a Democratic presidential candidate has been guaranteed an automatic 85 to 90 percent of the black vote. This stands in stark contrast to rampant evidence that Democrats have sought for this same amount of time to keep minorities in poverty and in need purely for the sake of Democrat votes and power:

The left, who has hijacked the Democrat party, seeks to do the same to the Hispanic population in this country. The destruction of the black family is a prelude to what will happen to the now strong and hard working Hispanic family institution. Case in point is the recent failure of the voucher system which sought to raise minority children out of failing public schools. It was the Democrat supported unions that kept this vote from going forward.

The Republican party has done more for the black population and family than the Democrat party has ever promised to do (and has not done). The lip-service and media hype for the left gives the "appearance" of helping the downtrodden but in actuality keeps minorities and the poor subjugated for its own gain.

As noted at the Black-and-Right Blog
".... this is what happens when blacks blindly give their support to a party that has to be reminded every two years not to take it for granted. Obama Democrats, too, believe they have the black vote locked and now can devote the rest of their time using the usual race-baiting tactics aimed at illegal Latinos."
Yet still, as the Gallop poll shows, Blacks continue to support Democrats, and still, that chicken keeps coming home to roost - leaving them stuck in the same endlessly repeating cycle of poverty that Democratic policies keep them stuck in.
