Re: Zbigniew Brzezinski's Brainstorm: Invite Iran To Kibitz On Afghanistan

Topics: Iran, Middle East News and Perspectives, Political News and commentaries

On Morning Joe today, former Carter aide Zbigniew Brzezinski recommended that the US organize an "international conference" on Afghanistan's future -- and invite Iran to participate. Like Mark Finkelstein quips at NewsBusters, "Great idea... While we're at it, let's invite al Qaeda to a conference on Israel's future":

ZBIGNIEW BRZEZINSKI: I think we have to have some sort of an international conference drawing in the neighbors of Afghanistan into the process regarding the future of Afghanistan. And that means, among others, the Iranians. So, there are a number of things we need to do, difficult as they are, in order to accomplish the objective the president set for himself.

No surprise here, this is what we'd expect from a guy who was an aide to the most disastrous president in American history - before Obama.
