ABC journalist jumps to SEIU

Topics: Follies of the Mainstream Media, Political News and commentaries

So you think the media's in the tank for the Left? How about more part of the Democratic Left than just in the tank! (H/t - John McCormack):

Ben Smith reports at Politico:
Another jump from the media to politics: ABC News's deputy political director, Teddy Davis, emails that he's leaving the network to join SEIU's already-muscular communications and politics operation.

He'll be Assistant Director of Communications at the giant union, he said, "working with the SEIU team on their political campaigns and policy agenda."

The Washington Post pointed out in May 2009 that at least 10 ex-journalists were working for the Obama administration. Mark Hemingway finds the MSM-Big Labor revolving door particularly objectionable:

It's one thing to be liberal or Democratic, but being down with the SEIU's political agenda? Anyone who truly understands card check legislation and can defend it as good for the country is pretty out there. In any event, this helps explain why the media is largely uninterested in reporting on the SEIU and how the union's officers are robbing their members blind..

Doesn't leave much doubt about the media's bent for the Left. As Christian Toto notes at Human Events, survey after survey shows the ideological bent of most mainstream press reporters favors the Democratic Party. And that's before one reads their stories, watches their news broadcasts and considers their collective mea culpa after giving Sen. Barack Obama the hands off treatment during the 2008 election cycle.

In the way of a necessary disclaimer here. let's be perfectly clear. This is a conservative blog with a center-right bias. However, contrary to the journalists in the mainstream media, at least we're willing to admit it and even go so far as to point it out. It would be helpful, as well as more ethical of them, if journalists did the same.
