U.S. Muslim Professor Arrested In Egypt For Arriving From JFK With Luggage Filled With Weapons

Topics: Political News and commentaries, Understanding Islam

I hesitate to say so (in the interest of political correctness), but invariably, 99% of the time when you hear something crazy going on involving weapons, explosives, or violence, you can bet your ass that a Muslim is involved. And once again, this is proven to be true.

From the AFP: Egypt detains US passenger with weapons in bags

CAIRO -- Egyptian authorities detained a passenger arriving from New York's JFK airport Wednesday with handguns, ammunition and knives in his bag, but US officials said there had been no security lapse.

Mohamed Ibrahim Marei, a US university professor of Egyptian origin, arrived on EgyptAir flight 986 from John F. Kennedy Airport.

Customs officials in Cairo checked his luggage because he looked nervous, and found two handguns and 250 rounds of ammunition hidden in metal boxes, an Egyptian official said on condition of anonymity.

In a secret compartment in the bag, authorities also found two swords, five daggers and six knives, the official added.

An investigation has been launched, the official said.

Let's see here; A Muslim botany professor (this article says the guy's name is Mohamed Ibrahim Khalf) leaves JFK and arrives in Cairo with guns, ammunition, knives, and swords in a secret compartment inside his baggage - and TSA says there was no security lapse? Hmmm...

And I suppose he was no doubt carrying all the weapons and ammo for some intended peaceful purpose, right? After all, isn't that what Islam is all about?
