Sarkozy: France to ban Muslim veil
Topics: Political News and commentariesIf France's Nicolas Sarkozy has his way, this will no longer be allowed in France.
The move would protect the dignity of women, the president added.France is home to Europe's largest Muslim population but only a small number wear full veils. So it can't be all that crucial to the Muslim religion other than to serve as a standard of extreme fundamentalism."The full veil is contrary to the dignity of women," he said. "The response is to ban it. The Government will table a draft law prohibiting it."
In other words, smart move, the U.S. ought to do the same thing.
