NRO: Stupak is 'Finished with Pelosi'

Topics: Political News and commentaries

Robert Costa reports that two pro-life GOP members close to Stupak have told NRO that any Stupak deals are off. They just spoke with Stupak and they said he's finished with Pelosi since they rejected his enrollment corrections proposal.

This should come as no surprise since any tilt toward truly banning federal funding of abortion would guarantee that the senate would reject it, being that the bill passed by the senate does indeed allow for federal funding of abortion through "an accounting trick," (Health Secretary Kathleen Sebelius actually admits it) and the pro-abortion-influenced senators would reject any changes.

BTW, the Politifact.com of the pro-Democrat, left-leaning, St. Pete Times has it all wrong. In fact, the healthcare bill is rife with provisions funding abortion

And as Thomas Peters aptly points out:

"All Bart Stupak is asking for is for Hyde language to be included in the bill. Third-party fact-checkers have verified that the inclusion of Hyde language will not result in women being denied care (because Hyde language already applies to Health and Human Services appropriations, and that's not a problem now). Therefore, if Hyde represents the status quo, and this new health care legislation does not change the status quo, then why on earth have the Democrats been so resistant to simply including Hyde language?
To put the argument in a nutshell, if the senate bill does indeed prohibit federal funding of abortion - with no outs, and Stupak is simply asking that this be made perfectly clear, why in the hell are the pro-abortion advocates and their supporters in the senate screaming their f****ing heads off!
