Quinnipiac poll: Obama Approval at 45% (Look for it to only get worse)
Topics: Political News and commentariesA new national survey from Quinnipiac (2/2-2/8) shows President Obama's job approval rating at 45%, with 46% disapproving.
As for Mr. Obama's health care plans, the Q poll results show Americans approve of his health care plans even less than they approve of Obama:
Voters remain sour on President Obama's health care plans. Only 35% "mostly approve of the proposed changes to the health care system under consideration in Congress" while a 54% majority "mostly disapprove" - both numbers unchanged in the last month. Among Independents only 29% mostly approve and 60% mostly disapprove. (emphasis mine)Rasmussen has Mr. Obama with 48% of voters saying they at least somewhat approve of the President's performance. Fifty-one percent (51%) now disapprove.
Meanwhile, Mr. Obama plans to follow through with what Ruth Marcus aptly calls an insult to Kabuki - his health care Kabuki summit.
Marcus writes:
But the president's proposal was not really meant to be taken at face value. In case the president's ducking of Couric's question about his willingness to "start at square one" wasn't clear enough, the White House came out to emphasize that, no, the president wasn't backing away from the measures that have already passed both houses of Congress. He plans to come to the table with a merged Democratic blueprint as his starting point. Republicans should feel free to chime in, though. If Mr. Obama really wanted to learn about GOP health care reform plans, and more than kabuki in mind, he can simply look them up online, where they have been for months (Sen. Jim Demint's Health Care Freedom Plan is here, the Patients' Choice Act of Sens. Coburn and Burr and Reps. Ryan and Nunes is here, and the House GOP leader Boehner's health care reform page is here. As Michelle Malkin quips, Obama has enough human stage props to feed his ego and advance his agenda - Republicans should not be a party to it.To call this Kabuki is to insult the Japanese art form. I am no fan of the House Republican leadership, but under these circumstances it's hard to fault Minority Leader John Boehner of Ohio and Minority Whip Eric Cantor of Virginia for suggesting that they might have better things to do than serve as Democratic stage props.
Nonetheless, expect Mr. Obama's approval to continue to decline as more and more Americans see through his "hopey changey" rhetoric as nothing more than a far-left, socialist-leaning, agenda that is taking the country ever-deeper in debt with fewer and fewer freedoms and liberties.
As Jim O'Neill noted at CFP back in October 09, under Barack Obama's and the Democrat's agenda - along with that of their fellow globalists, freedom is being replaced by servitude, capitalism by socialism, and property rights by "sustainable development." Although this has been going on for some time, it has greatly accelerated under the current administration and it's Democratic friends in Congress.
And Americans are beginning to wake up and aren't buying what they are selling, anymore.
