Muslims say airport body scanners violate Islamic lawTopics: Political News and commentaries, Understanding Islam, War on Terror
This is nuts. As Pamila Geller posits at the link, who should we be scanning, the Amish?
Frankly, we really shouldn't be giving a Tinker's damn what they think. As Robert Spencer points out, the complaining Muslims and Islamic scholars, along with Hamas-linked CAIR, want Muslims to receive special exemption - which, of course, flies in the face of reality since its the Muslim terrorists we're having to screen for - because it's the Muslim terrorists that want to kill us, not the freakin' Amish:
The Fiqh Council of North America (FCNA) is affiliated with ISNA, which is a Muslim Brotherhood group. The Brotherhood is dedicated in its own words to "eliminating and destroying Western civilization from within." The FCNA issued a flimsy, loophole-ridden condemnation of terrorism several years ago. And CAIR, of course, is an unindicted co-conspirator in a Hamas terror funding case -- so named by the Justice Department. CAIR operatives have repeatedly refused to denounce Hamas and Hizballah as terrorist groups. Several former CAIR officials have been convicted of various crimes related to jihad terror. CAIR's cofounder and longtime Board chairman (Omar Ahmad), as well as its chief spokesman (Honest Ibe Hooper), have made Islamic supremacist statements. My own proposed solution is to simply ban Muslims that refuse body scans from flying. That would save us all a lot of time and money.
And so now these groups say that body scanners are un-Islamic. Very well. There may be plenty of reasons to oppose body scanners, but when they put it this way, they suggest they'd be just fine with some sort of exemption from such scanning for Muslims. That would mean that the one group that would be subjected to lighter airport security checks than any other group would be...Muslims. And that would in turn make things easier than ever for jihad terrorists.
