Glenn Beck's CPAC Speech

Topics: Political News and commentaries

The video is an hour long with Beck beginning to speak at the 5:08 mark. As Ace aptly notes, Beck hammered home the points that the Progressive movement is the biggest threat America faces, and that Progressivism infects both parties and that the Republican Party needs to flush it out of their party and return to traditional Conservative ideals:

Marxism forces its political and societal changes via armed revolution, Progressivism forces its changes via slow, incremental evolution Beck said. With both movements, the end result is that a country has the same form of oppressive government (Emphasis mine).
The last sentence bears repeating: "... the end result is that a country has the same form of oppressive government," because it's the government that Barack Obama and the Democrats intend to force on America.

Although the video is well worth taking the time to watch, I disagree with Beck's claims that both parties are the same and that Barack Obama is not the problem (although I do agree that the Republican Party has some progressives), one has to be deaf, dumb, and blind to not recognize that the Republican Party stands for Democracy, the free market, individual liberties, and a strong national defense while the Democratic Party stands for government control over virtually every aspect of our lives, and sleeping with our enemies.

And personally, I getting a bit tired of Beck's "I'm a recovering alcoholic" routine.
