After all, that 'smart power' is working out so well for us, right?

Topics: Iran, Political News and commentaries

That Barack Obama's "smart policy" and "extended hand" approach to Iran and the Muslim world is the utter failure every sane person knew it would be, becomes more and more evident everyday. Not only has the Obama administration essentially given up on stopping Iran from churning out nuclear weapons to distribute to all there Islamo-terrorist friends, now Iran and Syria are mocking U.S. policy and Ahmadinejad is speaking ever-louder about Israel's "annihilation."

This comes while Hillary Clinton cites progress in the Iran sanctions effort on the same day we learn that China stresses diplomatic solution to the Iran nuclear issue and Russia warns the West against "crippling" Iran sanctions. Anyone see a disconnect here?

Tammy Bruce's take is absolutely right; anyone who thinks the administration's policies will cripple Iran has to be blind.

As Neoavatara has noted, Obama's entire foreign diplomacy has been dependent on the concept that smart, intelligent dialogue with our enemies will get them to realize the ill of their ways, and change their decades-long course toward war with Israel, and eventually the West. Supposedly, the key was to use the international community to pressure these rogue states to come to the table.

As all but the administration and the blind know by now, this hasn't worked out so well.

Memo to the president: Insanity is repeating the same mistake over and over and expecting a different outcome. As noted in the opening paragraph of this post, every sane person has known that smart power would result in utter failure. Nothing's changed.

Sooner or later, for the sake of the survival of Israel and the West, your administration has to wake up to the fact that "smart power" hasn't worked, and is going nowhere.
