Nancy's Biggest Lie Yet

Topics: Political News and commentaries

As Jennifer Rubin aptly points out, Nancy Pelosi has had her run of memorable moments of misspeaks and mis-truths, but in her response to a letter by C-SPAN that sought to televise the conference committee (which isn't going to happen because it's all to be done in secret cloakroom deals), she outdid herself with "There has never been a more open process for any legislation."

Say what???

It's Nancy channeling Baghdad Bob, who spouted out in 2003 (with American tanks and troops literally inside the city): "They're not even [within] 100 miles [of Baghdad]. They are not in any place. They hold no place in Iraq. This is an illusion ... they are trying to sell to the others an illusion."

As Jennifer goes on to note, the Democrats are now reduced to simply making stuff up, both on substance and on process, because what is in the health care bill is unpalatable to a majority of voters. And the Dems certainly "don't want to discuss the details or put any of the final back-room bribery . . . er . . . legislative compromising . . . on C-SPAN."
