Democrats' "Cash For Cloture' Obamacare Bill (Updated)

Democrat leaders have no shame and no reluctance to buy votes for Obama-care the Chicago way, and hand out taxpayer dollars to help any Democrat get elected to office who's willing corrupt enough to sell their vote.

Take for example what liberal reporter Ceci Connolly admitted to Greta Van Susteren tonight, that Senator Chris Dodd (D-Conn) received a $100 million in a sweetheart deal from the White House in the Obamacare bill to help him with his re-election. This in the face of a new Rasmussen poll that has him losing to every remaining Republican in the race.

Then there's what's now being called "The Louisiana Purchase" of $300 million by Harry Reid for Sen. Mary Landrieu's (D-La.) vote to support Obamacare.

And who can forget the story of sleazy Ben Nelson's (D-Neb) "shameless perfidy" - giving up his pro-life principles in return for swindling taxpayers in the other 49 states into paying all of Nebraska's future new Medicaid costs, awarded him by Harry Reid, of course. Yuval Levin points out at the Corner, there is no conceivable policy argument for the way the new bill treats Nebraska, it's simply a case of a senator's vote being purchased with taxpayer dollars. This applies equally to the cases of Landrieu and Dodd as well.

And there's the case of Bernie Sanders' socialized medicine program. Sanders wanted a public option. Instead, he got socialized medicine satellite clinics funded to the tune of at least $10 billion. In his remarks early this morning before the cloture vote, he gloated about the funding as a crucial step toward universal care (H/t - Michell Malkin).

Moving forward as the days and weeks unfold, the litany of deals made by the White House and Reid in backroom deals to buy votes with our dollars will more fully emerge. But already we know that whan it comes to conducting the legislative process in as sleazy a manner as possible - i.e. the Chicago Way, the Democrats have no problem doing so and have no shame.
