Quinnipiac University poll: Barack Obama's job approval rating now at 48% (Update - Rasmussen shows dropping like a rock)

As Assistant Director at Quinnipiac, Peter Brown, notes: The figure is not statistically different from Obama's October rating, but "in politics symbols matter and this is not a good symbol for the White House."

In another "political symbol" that is not helpful to the White House, Rasmussen has Presidnt Obama's job approval index at -12:

Update: For November 18, Rasmussen's Daily Tracking Poll shows Obama's approval has dropped more since yesterday:

The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Wednesday shows that 26% of the nation's voters Strongly Approve of the way that Barack Obama is performing his role as President. Forty percent (40%) Strongly Disapprove giving Obama a Presidential Approval Index rating of -14.

Overall, 47% of voters say they at least somewhat approve of the President's performance. That figure includes 40% of voters not affiliated with either major party. Overall, among all voters, 52% now disapprove.

Republicans continue to hold a six-percentage point lead on the Generic Congressional Ballot.

Just 29% agree with the decision to try Khalid Shaikh Mohammed and five other terrorists suspects in a New York city courtroom. Only 14% believe terrorist suspects should receive the same legal rights in court as U.S. citizens.
