Too good to be true? (Updated)

Topics: Political News and commentaries

Hugh Hewitt points to "a very big headline" and a very big testament to the power of the people making themselves heard. As Hugh goes on to note, now we'll see what it really means:

Obama and the Democrats seem set on some monumental piece of legislation and much larger government oversight/control of the health care sector, so it's hard to believe they're going to retreat and start considering alternative plans. Secretary of Health and Human Services Katherine Sebelius betrays the general attitude toward business that has become the hallmark of this administration:
"I think there will be a competitor to private insurers," Sebelius said. "That's really the essential part, is you don't turn over the whole new marketplace to private insurance companies and trust them to do the right thing."
More here.

As we noted in our previous post in which we quoted from James Simpson's article titled, "Manufactured Healthcare Crisis"; "Obamacare must be defeated. The Dems control both houses of Congress so this remains an uphill battle, but if enough get the message that their careers are on the line, these utterly self-serving pols may actually come around to our point of view, simply for sheer survival purposes. We cannot let up for a single minute."

Update: Looks like it was too good to be true: Administration Official: "Sebelius Misspoke."
