When a liberal scholar and soldier met a stray Iraqi dog

I love heartwarming stories, especially of our military men and women, and even more so when a dog is involved. Such is the case with this L.A. Times piece about Maj. Steven Hutchison, a soldier and scholar, a 'bleeding heart' with a gruff exterior, who stablished an unlikely connection with a stray Iraqi dog.
