Video on Obama administration's suppression of "inconvenient" EPA report

Topics: Political News and commentaries

We;ve previously posted on the report that was an inconvenient truth the EPA did not want released at an inconvenient time - the day before the House was to vote on a controversial energy bill destined to be the largest tax hike in American history. Today, Dan Spencer has posted this YouTube video that provides a perspective of the event vs. what Obama said about science in his usual "soaring rhetoric" during his December 20, 2008 weekly address:

Because the truth is that promoting science isn't just about providing resources - it's about protecting free and open inquiry. It's about ensuring that facts and evidence are never twisted or obscured by politics or ideology. It's about listening to what our scientists have to say, even when it's inconvenient - especially when it's inconvenient. Because the highest purpose of science is the search for knowledge, truth and a greater understanding of the world around us. That will be my goal as President of the United States - and I could not have a better team to guide me in this work.
As we now know, as in the case of so many of his other statements and promises before and after his election, those were indeed, as Spencer notes in his piece, just words. There's no substance or core belief, he says what he thinks we want to hear at the time.

Spencer has more on the suppression of the report that was especially inconvenient for Obama's cap and trade push.
