Turkish author faces up to a year in prison for 'insulting Islam'

Don't think for a moment that, as it's also happening to Geert Wilders in The Netherlands, this couldn't happen here.

Clearly, free speech is under assault, even in the West. As McQ points out at Q and O: "Tolerance, it seems, is only reserved for speech which praises tolerance. If, instead, the speaker is intolerant of things for which the state believes they should be tolerant, there is no tolerance."

And as Jed Babbin notes at Human Events, the assault on free speech always involves Muslims and the multiculturists: "Under assault by Muslims and multiculturalists, free speech and freedom of the press are dead in Britain. The same sorts of people who killed them in Britain are killing them in Canada. They and their allies are using the British and Canadian courts and tribunals to bury our First Amendment rights in America."

Again, don't think for a moment it can't happen here, because it's already happening.
