Barack Obama is no John Galt, rather, the antithesis thereof

This piece, written by Angry White Dude back on 27 October of this year, should be read by everyone that voted in election 08 (and then passed around again to everyone they know). I'm posting it here in it's entirety to make sure that even those that like to just skim through posts can see it all and get to the all important video. However, please take the time to read all of it.

Will Atlas Shrug?

One of Angry White Dude's favorite books is Atlas Shrugged, written by Ayn Rand.  While written over 50 years ago, the parallels of the consequences of current government interference with free market ideals are shocking.  "Objectivism" was the philosophy that arose from Rand's writings... and it was based on logic and reason. That was taken out of schools long ago, in preparation of leading the sheep to slaughter. Now our children read books about Malcolm X and books written only by politically correct authors like Maya Angelou. The Democrats are led by communists, and the Republicans are political correct wussypants who are afraid to stand up for the conservative ideals that put them in office in the first place. The government has nationalized over 50% of home mortgages, the country's biggest insurance company, and now the banks. All of these failures were brought on by liberal government programs and policies. We've been riding the socialist slippery slope for a long time, and we've reached the point of critical mass where the producers can no longer support the looters. About half the country now openly supports socialism. As the old saying goes, "if you take from Peter to pay Paul, you can always count on Paul's support." The Democrats figured this out long ago and have been putting the screws to Peter for decades. Maybe now, like in the book, the "Atlases" of the world will start to "Shrug" when the find the government reaching deeper into their pockets for "wealth redistribution." Obama seeks to be the next Robin Hood...stealing from the rich to give to the poor. Except this time, the rich aren't so rich and many of the poor are just plain lazy or in their circumstances because of their own bad decisions! Obama's "spread the wealth around" sounds almost verbatim to Karl Marx's "from each according to his ability, to each according to his need." And the left bristles when conservatives call Obama socialist!

In Atlas Shrugged, one of the characters tells why Robin Hood is so dangerous. His words apply very much to Obama. "It is said that he [Robin Hood] fought against the looting rulers and returned the loot to those who had been robbed, but that is not the meaning of the legend which has survived. ... He is held to be the first man who assumed a halo of virtue by practicing charity with wealth which he did not own... He became a justification for every mediocrity who, unable to make his own living, has demanded the power to dispose of the property of his betters, by proclaiming his willingness to devote his life to his inferiors at the price of robbing his superiors. It is this foulest of creatures...whom men have come to regard as a moral ideal. ... Do you wonder why the world is collapsing around us? That is what I am fighting, Mr. Rearden. Until men learn that of all human symbols, Robin Hood is the most immoral and the most contemptible, there will be no justice on earth and no way for mankind to survive."

Wealth redistribution has been around for a long time...under various names. It has failed in every instance. If you haven't read Atlas Shrugged, then get off your lazy butts and quit watching Monster Trucks or Queer Guy for the Straight Guy (if you're a liberal) and get your butt down to the book store. AWD re-reads Atlas Shrugged every 4 years before elections to remind myself why I hate liberals so much! Here is a video of a small part of John Galt's famous speech. Now compare what you just read and heard to what Obama has actually said:


And remember this?: Barack Obama: Global Poverty Act = World tax = Socialism


If you really get all this, you understand how one can say, with confidence, that Barack Obama is no John Galt, and indeed, is the antithesis thereof. Even more, as bad as Bush was, Barack Obama will make Bush seem like Reagan.
